The Linear Acoustic StreamStacker-HD™ system is comprised of the model LA-5173 Encoder and the model LA-5174 Decoder and  allows for 16 or more channels of PCM or pre-compressed audio, associated audio metadata, and optional auxiliary data to be carried over a single bit-accurate AES pair.  Audio I/O is supported via individual AES pairs and as SDI (SD and HD).  Metadata is supported via industry standard RS-485 serial connections and as VANC data.  Carriage of pre-compressed signals such as AC-3 or aacPlus™ allows them to be passed straight to air by local stations with no need for re-encoding thereby saving the cost of adding local encoders to support ancillary programs such as Visual Descriptive programming.
