AERO.one Transmission Audio Loudness Manager

Inconsistent DTV audio loudness is the leading complaint of television viewers, a problem easily solved by the AERO.one® audio loudness manager.  Ideally suited for local broadcasters and affiliate stations seeking to match local and network content while providing a seamless surround-sound experience, the 1RU AERO.one is the simplest and most cost-effective solution for guarding against loudness shifts and loss of surround sound available today.

Three versions of the AERO.one are available - AERO.one (5.1), AERO.one (DTV), and AERO.one (TV).

AERO.one (5.1) is an 8-channel (5.1+2) audio loudness manager.  It offers 5.1 upmixing provided by the renowned Linear Acoustic UPMAX® algorithm, which provides compelling 5.1-channel audio with complete down mix compatibility, plus the AutoMAX-II™ auto-detection algorithm which smoothly and automatically bypasses upmixing when applied content is already 5.1 channels.  Full-time LoRo or LtRt stereo downmix outputs are provided, as are AES I/O with auto-sensing HD/SD-SDI I/O for up to 16 audio channels plus SMTE 2020 A/B metadata support.  GPI and metadata control of functions is also built-in.

AERO.one (DTV) is a 6-channel (5.1) version for stations that do not require a full-time stereo downmix.

AERO.one (TV) is a 4-channel (2+2) version for local broadcasters who only need to handle two-channel programming, and offers dual stereo processors to support two stereo programs or a single stereo program plus mono SAP.  Incoming 5.1 channel audio will be automatically downmixed prior to loudness control.

Options include:

  • 5.1 channel Dolby Digital (AC-3) and Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3) encoding
  • SNMP monitoring
