The UPMAX:neo was chosen for A Pick Hit Award from Broadcast Engineering because it makes a positive impact on the intended user's everyday work, offers substantial improvement over previous technology, and is available at a price that is within the reach of intended users.  UPMAX:neo eases the production of 5.1-channel audio programs by creating an infinitely adjustable multichannel signal that is completely downmix compatible. Serving as a surroundfield synthesizer, the system also provides the most effective and compatible solution for integrating legacy 2-channel material into today’s 5.1-channel programs.

The AEROMAX 5.1-XL received a STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from TV Technology magazine.  The AEROMAX 5.1-XL from Linear Acoustic represents the first TV audio processor to feature built-in Dolby® Digital (AC-3) encoding. Engineered on the foundation of the company’s supremely successful first-generation digital television processors, the AEROMAX 5.1-XL enables broadcasters to deliver compelling 5.1-channel surround sound while saving them time, money, and space.

The STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from IMAS Publishing’s TV Technology magazine is for the StreamStacker-HD™ High Density e2 (e-squared™) Audio Distribution System, which allows multiple audio channels and associated audio metadata to be kept together in a single, easy-to-manage package that is highly error -resilient and can be routed, switched and edited similarly to a standard AES signal. StreamStacker-HD encodes up to 16 channels of PCM audio and metadata, and comprises the Model LA-5173 Encoder and Model LA-5174 Decoder. Data compression is accomplished via the proven DTS Coherent Acoustics codec, which provides the quality and flexibility required by broadcasters.

A STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from TV Technology magazine for the Model LA-5448 Multi-Input AC-3 Frame Synchronizer and Rate Shaper, which maintains consistent, error-free AC-3 bitstreams that are critical for high quality audio transmission. The unit locks incoming AC-3 streams to a local 48 kHz AES reference that can be either PCM or AC-3. Operating with a 48 kHz AC-3 reference, all outputs are both frequency and phase synchronized.
A Top Innovations Award from Television Broadcast magazine for the AEROMAX-TV™ Stereo Digital Audio Processor with CrowdControl™, which provides control of two channel main plus SAP audio, with front-panel display and controls plus Ethernet remote control. The four-channel unit can be configured as 2+2 or 2+1+1 (stereo plus two mono channels).

A STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from TV Technology magazine for the StreamStacker™ Multichannel Audio Distribution System, which comprises the Model LA-5421 StreamStacker™ Audio Bitstream Multiplexer and Model LA-5124 StreamStacker™ De-Multiplexer/AC-3 Splicer.  The Model LA-5124 offers enhanced channel density by extracting up to four 5.1 channel AC-3-encoded programs from a single AES-format digital signal. Stacked AC-3 streams produced by the companion Model LA-5421 Multiplexer are fully compatible with all Dolby-certified AC-3 decoders. The system provides an affordable multichannel audio distribution for broadcasters, program providers, cable head-end or satellite origination facilities.
A STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) from TV Technology for the Model LA-5124 with AutoNorm™ Automatic Dialog Normalization System, which generates audio-loudness metadata for HDTV 5.1-channel surround audio. AutoNorm™ is an innovative approach to solving long-term loudness problems without sacrificing dynamic range or audio quality.
A Mario Award from TV Technology for the Model LA-5124 with AutoNorm™ Automatic Dialog Normalization System.
A Top Innovations Award from Television Broadcast magazine for the Model LA-5124 with AutoNorm™ Automatic Dialog Normalization System.
A Cool Stuff Award from Radio World newspaper for the new AEROMAX-HDFM Multichannel Digital Processor, which incorporates programmable audio processing for a station’s main FM and HD/Digital Radio signal paths, in
addition to providing separate multiband processing for up to two supplementary audio channels. The unit also provides 5.1-channel surround-sound encoding via built-in SRS Labs Circle Surround® technology.
