Introducing Linear Acoustic®
Intelligent Dynamics™

Delivering audio to television viewers that satisfies loudness regulations (and loudness meters) is not a difficult task. Doing so without permanently impacting audio quality presents a much larger challenge, and one that can now be met head-on with Linear Acoustic® Intelligent Dynamics™ hybrid metadata processing.
Featured at no additional cost as part of the Linear Acoustic AERO.1000™ Audio/Loudness Platform and AERO.2000™ Audio/Loudness Manager, Intelligent Dynamics is actually a combination of two revolutionary technologies.
The first technology is a portion of the new Dolby® Smart Media Framework™ system which enables measurement and incorporation of authenticated loudness data within the audio at each stage of the content delivery chain from production onwards.
The second technology, developed by Linear Acoustic, creates new metadata dynamic range control via traditional processing techniques, resulting in a hybrid that can be set to permanent (via traditional single-ended processing), reversible (via metadata), or anywhere in between. Dolby EVO data is then used to control the degree and type of processing applied to the audio.
Linear Acoustic Wins ProSoundNetwork Best of Show Award
Each year, the editorial staffs of Pro Audio Review and Pro Sound News comb the NAB show floor in search of new and noteworthy products and technologies. This year, they presented their ProSoundNetwork "Best of Show Award" to Linear Acoustic for their patented Intelligent Dynamics™ hybrid metadata processing, included in the AERO.2000™ Audio/Loudness Manager and AERO.1000™ Audio/Loudness Platform.
"We couldn't be more excited about receiving the Best of Show Award," said Linear Acoustic Vice President and Executive Director Christina Carroll. "Intelligent Dynamics in our products is the final answer. As we have always said, 'viewers are listening', and now we can finally make content creators, broadcasters, and consumers unanimously happy."
Ecuavisa Leads the Way in Ecuador for Audio Quality and Loudness Control
While regulations regarding television loudness have been implemented in many parts of the world, including the U.S. with 2012’s CALM Act, the vast majority of television broadcasters in Latin American countries have not yet been affected by such legislation.
Ecuador’s Ecuavisa network was no exception, until it occurred to Engineer Felipe Paucar that because Ecuavisa’s programming was also being delivered to U.S. viewers, it needed to be CALM-compliant.
Gilbert Felix, Linear Acoustic Field Applications Engineer for Latin America, introduced Paucar to the company’s AERO.lite™ Loudness Controller, placing it in the transmission path feeding the satellite and cable providers.

"I noticed right away that the fidelity was much higher than it had been before, and we sounded much better than the rest of the stations," said Paucar. "Then we started hearing back from the cable and satellite companies that our loudness levels were perfectly controlled and consistent. That was not the case before AERO.lite. We opted for the built-in loudness meter, and that really made matching the output levels easy". Programming is also distributed to Peru through Telefonica with similar success.
